Could you record the inscriptions at your local church?

Few churches other than Church of England have been surveyed in Norfolk.

Here is an example of a memorial inscription recorded at Nordelph, Wesleyan Methodist:

"In loving memory of/ William TUCK, of Nordelph, for many years a/ worshipper in this church, to which he was/ devoutly attached, died April 16^th 1910/ aged 82 years/
Also of Henry TUCK, who in AD 1806, introduced/ Methodism into this village, entering the Wesleyan/ ministry in AD 1809, died Oct 13^th 1857/ aged 73 years/
Also of John ELMER, of Nordelph, local preacher/ and class leader, by whose special effort this/ building was erected, taken ill on the/ day of the stone laying June 12^th 1861, died Sep 19^th/ before the building was completed/
“These all died in faith” Heb 11. 13."

In the left column below: NW = Northwest, SW = Southwest,  NC is the area around Norwich City and CN = Central Norfolk.
In the right column* below: NE = Northeast, SE = Southeast and YM is the area around Great Yarmouth.

The first column in each table indicates the place where the church is situated and is usually a parish name. As these do not appear in alphabetical order you may have to use Ctrl + F to find the place you are looking for.

The second column indicates denomination and location

The final column indicates details of a survey if one has already been undertaken

The information supplied here is far from comprehensive and at present only shows churches on a list obtained from THE NORFOLK CHURCHES TRUST together with a few additional sites which have been surveyed by Norfolk Family History Society.
It is likely that many of those not surveyed will have only one or two inscriptions each or possibly none at all. If and when it is established that there are no inscriptions in a particular church this fact will be shown below in the final column.
