The memorial inscriptions in the church, war memorial & churchyard at Ten Mile Bank St Mark in south west Norfolk

The churchwarden’s wife Mrs Gilbert kindly allowed access to the church where there are no memorials.
At the date of this survey the church was closed due to subsidence. Whether or not the church reopens the churchyard will not be closed for the foreseeable future.

The following abbreviations are used to describe the type of memorial
HS = Headstone (however where there is a headstone alone, no description is given)
K = kerb
OB= stone in the form of an open book
/ = break between lines on the memorial
BR = Burial register

Four distinct areas of the churchyard were identified “G”, “N”, “E” and the remainder to the west of the church. These are described below in bold type. In each case rows are numbered from east to west and graves within each row from south to north.  No attempt has been made to draw a plan at this stage

To the south of the church between the entrance gate on the east side of the churchyard and the south wall of the church is an area here designated “G”. In this area rows are numbered sequentially from the gate to the SW corner of the church and graves numbered sequentially from the south end of each row to the north.
