C002 [White marble scroll on north wall of choir] In memory/ of/ the Revd Henry DUGMORE M A/ for upward of twenty two years/ a resident at the Hall/ in this place/ where he died deeply lamented/ on the 24th of February/ 1869/ in the 73rd year of his age/ also/ Cecilia Rachael/ his wife/ who departed this life deeply regretted/ on the 5th of February 1879/ in the 74th year of his age/ at Bagthorpe Hall, Norfolk/ so he giveth his beloved sleep

[According to Norfolk Roots May/June 2005 John Motteux was an eccentric bachelor with a passion for fruit tree cultivation who left Sandringham Hall to Charles Cowper from whom Queen Victoria purchased it in 1862]
