Surveys of the churches/churchyards in the military training area at STANTA, Norfolk are recorded in the following order:
General notes.
In each case inscriptions inside the
church are listed before those found in the churchyard
Each inscription is given a 4 digit
reference number which is used in the combined surname index. The notes at the
start of each section explain how the reference can be used to locate the
inscription at the site. This method was used in order not to spend time drawing
churchyard plans nevertheless it was not possible to complete the whole survey
during the period 1 April to 15th April 2008 due in part to
unsuitable weather..
Information in [square brackets] has
been added from other sources eg burial register [BR], the “Short History”
Guides produced by Roy Tricker and deductions from a knowledge of inscriptions
recorded at other sites.
The / character is used to indicate
where the line breaks occur on the original inscription.
All gravestones in churchyards are
headstones unless otherwise indicated
